BarCamp wiki / BarCampHelsinki: "BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

Meeting minutes
Kick-off meeting - Date: 04.03.2008 - Place: Fjord
- The event will be held on the 10th of May 2008 (Saturday) from 10AM to 7PM.
- Estimated number of attendants: 50
- List of potential sponsors to be created
- Communication channels: Jaiku channel for communications, this wiki for documentation
- Registration in the Wiki. Just name required
- Event adverts: Jaiku (Helsinki Channel and other channels), Facebook, other blogs, pingstate.nu
- Logo, banners, badge and other visual design. > Action point for Jani to design those
- Security and privacy can be an issue if the event is held in the premises of Fjord. > Action point to identify which are the requirements as soon as possible.
- Registration: in advance in the Wiki and the day of the event at the entrance
- Fjord will provide premises and the internet connection (limited to 60-70 people).
- Catering
- To be explored and decided based on the available sponsors
- Non-alcoholic beverages may be served by the organization
- Personal drinks and food allowed
- No age-limit
- Philosophy: no organization owns the event; open philosophy while organizing the event
- Time table of sessions will be maintained in the Wiki
- Attract as many different views as possible to create bridges between developers, designers and other parties
- English and Finnish sessions supported
- Very different kind of sessions: open. E.g: demos, workshops, presentations, etc.
