This summer, I'd the opportunity read old manuscripts and notes about Digital Villages. The oldest ideas concerning InfoCenters are 23 years old. New elements started to creep into the concept as we realized the tremendeous impact of Internet and the world wide web.
Wirby the global village became the first pilot project 1998; a first step prototype that kicked us to new levels: Digital Wood, Digital Villages and DigiArt. Today, the distance working toolbox including iTraining, iTrading, Microworks, 5T and La Strada are in process of being integrated into the broader concepts. Ecocity with distributed energy production is an emerging application area. I should also mention the future store. More about this later.
